Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fifty rugby players from the Collège Marracq in Bayonne toured Argentina visiting the Argentine capital, as well as various places in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Santa Fe.  During their stay in the city of Buenos Aires, the delegation visited the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea where they were welcomed by members of the Sub-commission of Culture. The youth learned about the history of the institution, as well as that of the Trinquete, “the oldest still in use in the Basque community,” club members explained.

During the two weeks of their trip, the athletes played matches and held exhibitions in Brandsen, Rosario and the Parana Delta.  Of course, they also did the circuit of typical tourist spots in the capital city.

The tour was coordinated by Federico Martin Aramburú, former Puma (Argentine Rugby Selection), who is currently based in Biarritz. This isn’t the first time that Aramburú has organized tours related to the world of rugby, and he hasn’t ruled out contacting more institutions in the Diaspora for future tours.
