Bahía Blanca, Argentina. As part of its 120th anniversary celebration and in preparation of Semana Nacional Vasca that will take place November 4-10th in Bahia Blanca, the Union Vasca Basque Club invites to participate in two contests and a poster contest for the txikis. The three proposals are supported by FEVA and will be part of the program of activities related to the diffusion of Euskera in the huge festival of the Basque-Argentine Diaspora.
“Beti Euskaraz” Story Contest
Basque students, of all levels, from clubs in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, either individually, or in groups (up to 4 people) are eligible to participate. The text, written in Basque, will be a free theme, and its length, minimum of one page and maximum of three. There is no limit to the genre, and stories, essays, stories, scrips, dramatizations, poems, songs, or comics will be accepted. These must be original works and the deadline to submit them is September 30th. The prizes include language materials and a certificate. Complete rules, here.
Poster Contest
The goal of this contest is to promote Basque instruction in Argentina, specifically Basque classes in 2020 at the Basque club level. Eligible participants are Basque students and teachers, of all levels, from the entire country, either individually or in groups. The poster should measure 25cm x 38cm, and four color, with text in Euskera or Spanish. Deadline to submit works is September 30th, and prizes include Euskera materials and a certificate. Txikien postalak-Kids postcards
This contest is aimed at txikis from all Basque clubs and institutions that support the Basque culture in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. The theme of the postcard will be a drawing related to Basque mythology, or Basque stories, and should include a short commentary by the artist on the back. For example “I like this story, character because…” or a greeting or message (in Euskera or Spanish), destined for txikis from other Basque clubs or institutions. Txikis can exchange their postcards at the farewell banquet at Semana Nacional Vasca. The postcard should be made by hand, and shouldn’t be larger than 15x21cm.
