Chino, California, USA. John Ochandorena – for many known as Johnny O – is a Basque-Californian motorcycle rider.  Like any self-respecting biker, his body is full of tattoos and, in his case; one of his peculiarities is that the motifs that inspire those tattoos are directly connected to his Basque heritage. Yes, he proudly defines hiimself as Basque and he has now entered a contest in Dream Chopper and aspires for the prize of a motorcycle specifically built for him by Paul Teutulfor with the Basque crest, flag & Lauburu.  If you want to help him, you had just over two and a half days to register, so that you can vote for him next week.  Go ahead and give him a hand!

Here is his contest submission:

Describe your riding experience:  I’ve been riding for about 30 years. My Harley is a ‘96 Heritage Softail in Violet Pearl with ape hangers, fishtail straight pipes, 6 speed transmission & a dyna wide glide 5 gallon tank, for extra long rides. I’ve owned this bike since Aug. of 1995 brand new with zero miles. I’ve put in about 73,000 original miles, & have enjoyed every bit of it. Now that I’ve been married with kids it’s harder to go out as much as I use to.

Describe the bike of your dreams.  The inspiration for the build would be my heritage. I’m Basque. If you ever heard of the running of the bulls, that’s in the Basque Country. Both my parents came from the Basque Country. I am first-generation American. I fly the American flag, and the Basque flag on the back of my Harley. Big motor, 6 speed, fat rear tire & loud pipes is a must!! Would love to incorporate the Basque crest, flag & Lauburu on the bike. Anything from Paul would be awesome!!!

What highway would you take your chopper to? I live in the central coast of California. Every road here is an awesome road. Would love to take this bike on these coastal roads enjoy the sea air, rolling vineyards & open pastures. I would be in heaven. Then maybe one day I could ship the bike back to the Basque Country, and Cruise the roads of my parents homeland in the Pyrenees Mountains. That would be incredible!!
