Maipú, Argentina. For 45 years in a row, the Euskal Etxea in Maipu have been sharing the Basque culture with the city, through dance, gastronomy, music, language and sports.  In recognition of its work and the number of years doing so, the Secretary of Culture, Education and Tourism in Maipú, through the Secretary Marina Golé has recognize the club as a relevant cultural institution and has included it in its Touristic and Cultural Catalog of the Province of Buenos Aires.

“The aim of the catalog is to register all spaces to promote them and include them in different support and promotion policies, seeking to create a map to visualize the composition and distribution of the Buenos Aires tourist-cultural network,” club sources said.

“Having worked to be included in the Catalog helps us to position ourselves in another place, with an outside point of view of ourselves where we see that this action is truly open to the community, not only to the Basque community, but to a more dives community, broad and general,” they pointed out with satisfaction.

With its inclusion in the Catalog, the Euskal Etxea can now access grants from Municipal Funds that aim to contribute to the start-up of the Centers activity, complying with appropriate and authorized standards and protocols during the pandemic.

In regards to this, Anaitasuna told EuskalKultura.eus that they will turn in their protocol to the Municipal Crisis Committee soon in order to begin holding in person gatherings especially those for the children and their Euskera group.
