Bahía Blanca, Argentina. Semana Nacional Vasca returns to the Union Vasca Basque Club in Bahia Blanca marking the club’s 120th anniversary.  This big annual festival gathers the Basque diaspora in Argentina and its neighboring countries November 4-10 and will include artistic, cultural, gastronomic, and recreational activities.  Completely immersed in the event’s organization, the Basque club has begun publicizing part of the week, like the festival’s logo, designed by former club dancer, Julia Mancini, inspired by Agustin Ibarrola’s Oma Forest.

According to SNV organizers, “Based on the opinion of different people that were consulted, Garenok (Those of us who are), was chosen as the concept that links us all in this sense of belonging.  And it’s not just about feeling Basque, but sharing that feeling, feeling a part of a community and identifying with others.”

In regards to the design itself, icons that function as identification elements were abstracted – the emakume with a headscarf, gudari, txapela and neckerchief, all united in a kalejira.  The typography, on the other hand, evokes the simplicity and rusticity of the old and the rupture with and informality of the modern.”

In the coming weeks, the Basque club will continue announcing program details.  In regards to the voucher, for reasons beyond the control of the organizers, prices are not yet available, but the club assures that they will be announced as soon as they can.
