On its 25th anniversary, the Oñatiko Ganbara Choir will travel to Argentina to participate in SNV in Bahia Blanca

Bahía Blanca, Argentina. The Oñatiko Ganbara Abesbatza, originally from Oñati, Gipuzkoa is celebrating tis 25th anniversary this year, and to close out the festivities they will go on a mini-tour through Argentina in the beginning of November.  The date is not a coincidence, since Semana Nacional Vasca takes place this year in Bahia Blanca November 4-10th; the Argentine Basque National Week festivities gathers Basque clubs not only from Argentina but also from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay…

According to the president of the organizing Basque club, Juan Manuel Lopetegui, the forty members of the Oñati choir, directed by Aitor Biain Bidarte will arrive in Bahia on Wednesday, November 6th and will stay through Saturday the 9th.  In regards to their performances, on Thursday, November 7th, they will perform in the auditorium at the Rivadavia Library, accompanied by a local chamber choir, and on Friday the 8th they will participate in the choir gathering that will take place in the same room.

Besides performances in Bahia Blanca, the choir will also put on concerts in Buenos Aires and la Plata.  In La Plata, they will sing on November 3rd at 8pm (place TBD).  In Buenos Aires, their performances will be part of the Buenos Aires World Choral Festival November 4th and 5th.
