Necochea, Argentina. The countdown is complete.  This year’s edition of the program Hator Hona 2019 has reached its 15th edition that will again bring eight youth form the Basque Country to Necochea for two weeks of gatherings and celebration, but above all of living the Basque culture to the fullest.

According to the youth at the Euzko Etxea, the program will include workshops in txalaparta and pandero, beginner's dance, and Basque song.  They will also show Beltzean Mintzo a documentary on minority languages in America and using Euskera as a reference, and Gure Kabuz ala Hil a documentary on different self-manages projects in Euskal Herria.

Thanks to the invited youth, but also the locals, there will also be a “Txiki Eguna,” with activities and games for young children in hopes of gathering food for a local entity; as well as gastronomy classes for txikis and adults alike.  The main events will begin on Wednesday July 31st, also the day of the typical joyful awakening of San Ignacio.  On Thursday, August 1st, there will be a Triki-poteo and on Saturday the 3rd there will be a big San Ignacio celebration.

This special edition of Hator Hona is also hoping for the participation of youth from neighboring Basque clubs, including special rates for the San Ignacio dinner, as well as the implication of the local community so that some of the activities will take place not just at the Basque club but in cultural centers, or at other local institutions.

Over the coming days, organizers will finalize details and the Schedule.  All updated information will be available on Facebook Hator Hona Project and Instagram (@hatorhona). Any other questions can be emailed: hatorhona@gmail.com / centrovasconecochea@yahoo.com.
